The X Factor: Ella Henderson leaves in shock exit
Ella Henderson has become the latest contestant to leave The X Factor after losing out to James Arthur in the public vote.
The show’s judges were left gobsmacked when Ella and James, both former favourites, ended up in the bottom two.
Nicole and Tulisa stuck with their own acts while Louis opted to send James home and Gary chose Ella, sending the decision to Deadlock.
It was then down to Dermot to reveal that 16-year-old Ella Henderson received the lowest number of votes and would be leaving the show.
Ella’s mentor Tulisa was left furious, calling the result “ridiculous” several times.
Veteran judge Louis Walsh said it was the most shocking result he had seen “in nine years of doing the show”.
He went on to add: “I am absolutely gobmacked.”
Ella’s departure from the show leaves an all male line up which includes Union J, Jahmene Douglas, Christopher Maloney, James Arthur and Rylan Clark.
Next week each act will perform two songs and the theme is Abba and motown.
