Emily, Lauren, Jessica, Bianca and Sian have just finished supporting the almighty Alexandra Burke on tour and this week released their debut single ‘Louder’.
The girls have been put together by Atlantic Records and at least three of them have already been in other groups which have presumably been abandoned. For the last six months or so they have been attempting a The Wanted style launch, building a following with intimate gigs in schools here there and everywhere and hundreds of mostly inane tweets.
The single, ‘Louder’ fails to break any new ground. It’s got a good chorus but everything around it is a bit of a blur to be honest. ‘Louder’ isn’t a song I would turn off but at the same time I’m unlikely to acquiesce to the girls request to ‘turn it up boy boy turn it up boy’.
The video is a bit of fun and more than a polite nod to ‘Wannabe’:
Despite the underwhelming nature of Parade’s debut single I am so desperate to have a new girl band around that I am willing to give them plenty of time to make an impression. I’m fairly confident that with the big label backing and a prime opportunity to stake their claim the girls could make a success of things.
