Half Scottish, half Swedish, this time last year Nina Nesbitt was sitting high school exams…
It is now a familiar story, post some covers on You Tube, get spotted by an actual pop star and begin your journey from bedroom warbler to super stardom.
In the case of 17 year old Nina Nesbitt it was Ed Sheeran who spotted her, helped along by Example who tweeted about her cover of his single ‘Stay Awake‘ and the fact she has an incredible voice.
A support slot on Mr Sheeran’s tour, cameo in his video and hundreds of thousands of You Tube views later, Nina has released her debut EP The Apple Tree.
Think Ellie Goulding only add the rawness of emotion present when you first heard Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ and you are getting towards the sound of the EP’s five tracks which have a more youthful and contemporary feel than either of those lazy comparisons.
