Movies: Hunger Games Sequel ‘Catching Fire’ Gets Release Date

The second film in the incredibly popular Hunger Games trilogy has been given a release date.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be in cinemas internationally from 22nd November 2013 and once again portions of the film will be shot in the IMAX format giving moviegoers the chance to immerse themselves in the world of Panem.

Jennifer Lawrence will be back as Katniss Everdeen along with Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark.

Based on the bestselling book by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire sees Katniss emerge from the 74th Annual Hunger Games victorious but far from safe and forced to enter the games again to protect not just her family and friends but the whole of District 12.

Meanwhile, the first Hunger Games film which was released in cinemas in March has now taken nearly $650 million worldwide and is about to released in China which is expected to boost that figure considerably.
