Girls Aloud are back with a brand new single, greatest hits album and 10th anniversary tour…

I find it hard to believe it was ten years ago that Girls Aloud formed on pre-X Factor reality tv show Popstars: The Rivals.

Pitted against duff boyband One True Voice, the girls stormed to victory with their debut single Sound Of The Underground.

Three years on from their last release there have been some solo careers with varying degrees of success to fill the void but nothing quite like the mighty GA as a fivesome.

A carefully choreographed countdown to Friday’s comeback announcement fell apart in the middle of the week when the girls’ new single Something New leaked onto the internet, forcing them to rush release it to radio the following day.

Luckily they had plenty more surprises up their sleeve including the video for the song, confirmation of a new greatest hits collection Ten and, most excitingly of all, the announcement of a national tour next year to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
