Listen to Carly Rae Jepsen and Owl City’s new single Good Time

Carly Rae Jepsen has been keeping us guessing when it comes to her new single. At first we thought it would be Curiosity, a song which appeared on an early EP and she has since shot a video for. It turns out that is on hold for now and this collaboration with Owl City will serve as the official follow up to Call Me Maybe.

Good Time is an addictive slice of sunshine synth pop which is sure to dominate the radio for the remainder of the summer. Young called on the vocal services of Carly Rae Jepsen for the track which is taken from his forthcoming album The Midsummer Station and will also be included on her as yet untitled debut LP.

Owl City is best known in the UK for his 2009 number one single Fireflies which went on to be covered by Cheryl Cole during a number of live performances. He looks set to repeat that success with Carly Rae Jepsen and Good Time which is equally catchy and had both sing-a-long and clap-a-long potential.

Listen to ‘Good Time’ by Own City and Carly Rae Jepsen:

Good Time is one of several collaborations on the forthcoming Owl City LP. The Midsummer Station is the first record where Adam Young has worked with other people, preferring in the past to work entirely on his own. In addition to the collaboration with Carly Rae Jepsen, Young has worked with Stargate, Gaga’s sound engineer Robert Orton and Emily Wright.

We have no doubt that as Call Me Maybe reaches a point where it needs a rest Carly Rae Jepsen will secure her spot on UK radio for the remainder of the summer with Good Time. Carly Rae is expected to release her debut album which is also rumoured to include some exciting collaborations before the end of the year.

Good Time is released on 26th June. Owl City’s The Midsummer Station follows on August 14th.
