Ashlee Simpson: Bat For A Heart

Ashlee Simpson makes a rather subtle return to her job as a pop star with her first new song in almost five years, Bat For A Heart.

The track appeared online towards the end of last year and now has a dark and edgy video to go with it.

Bat For A Heart is decent enough. A new twist on the agressive young female routine Ashlee has previously pulled off very successfully on singles including Boyfriend and La La. Unfortunately it lacks the necessary clout for a triumphant comeback.

I suspect it might just be a buzz track, something for the fans to get their teeth into before the real campaign starts. At least that is what I hope.
